About Furry Feathers

The Bluegrass has long textured leaves that feel like velvet. Like Prayer Plants, Calatheas raise and drop their leaves during the day & night, really a deep-purple hue underneath its leaves.

Calatheas, like ZZ Plants, divide underneath the soil. As a result, they will shoot up new stems, growing very thick/dense overtime, with lots of leaves.

Caring For Furry Feathers

	Light: Bright indirect sunlight If your plant is casting a sharp & defined shadow, then the light is too direct. This can damage its leaves and fade away its colour. We're looking for a shadow that's soft and blurred.
	Water: Every 1-2 weeks Like most forrest floor plants, Calatheas love slightly moist soil. However, they never want to sit in water. To check if your calathea is ready to be watered, feel the top one inch of your soil with your fingertips; if you feel moisture, then you can wait a little longer; if it feels dry, then slowly water the soil so that it's completely saturated - you'll know it's fully saturated when water drips out drainage hole on the bottom of the nursery pot. The more light your plant gets, the more it'll grow and the more water you'll need to give it. Similarly, the less light it gets, the less it will need.
	Difficulty: Care required Calathes do not require any special care compared to other plants. However, they can be quite dramatic: when they're unhappy, signs will show up all over the plant (as opposed to just on one or two leaves). You therefore need to act very quickly to identify and rectify the issue(s) causing your plant distress.
	Pets: Completley safe This plant is completely safe and non-toxic to pets.
