If you want that statement tropical look, our Bamboo Palm is the perfect choice.
With tall and feathery leaves, this indoor plant adds a lot of warmth to a corner without taking up too much floor space.

Botanical name: Chamaedorea Seifrizii

Bamboo Palms grow best in spaces with bright indirect light, where the sun is soft or diffused. They can adapt to medium light, though be careful to not overwater it, as the soil will take longer to dry with lesser light. Avoid placing it under direct midday sunlight (especially during the summer), since that will cause your Bamboo Palm to dry out and the leaf tips to brown. Never place it in a dark spot, since the soil will almost definitely take too long to dry out, which will cause your Bamboo Palm's roots to rot (a death sentence).

Maintain moist soil

Every 1-2 weeks, stick your finger 30-50% into the soil:

  • If you feel ANY moisture, at all, wait longer before watering.
  • If the soil feels COMPLETELY DRY, then it’s time to water.

Note: the more light it gets, the more often it’ll need to be checked & watered.

Discard excess water

When watering, fully water the entire soil mixture. Then, allow all the excess water to drain out the bottom of the pot’s drainage holes. Discard that water.

FAQ

Caring for your Bamboo Palm
Bamboo Palms thrive in bright to medium indirect light. In their native habitat, they live beneath taller trees, so filtered light keeps fronds lush without scorching.

Best placement: Near an east-facing window, or a few feet back from a bright south/west window with sheer curtains.
If the light is too low: They’ll tolerate it, but growth slows and fronds may thin out.
Avoid harsh sun: Direct UAE afternoon sun through glass can burn leaflets and bleach colour.
Water every 1–2 weeks, letting the top 3–5 cm of soil dry between waterings. Bamboo Palms dislike completely drying out for long periods but are equally sensitive to sitting in water.

How to check: Stick your finger into the soil — if the top layer is dry but there’s slight moisture below, water thoroughly until excess drains out.
Why this matters: Bamboo Palm roots are adapted for evenly moist, well-aerated soils. Prolonged dryness can cause frond tips to brown, while overwatering can cause root rot.
Watering tip: When watering your plant, evenly water the entire soil mixture until you see water draining from the bottom of the nursery pot. After allowing all the excess water to drain out, discard that water.
Repot every 2–3 years or when roots gently fill the pot. Whichever comes first. Palms prefer slightly snug pots and dislike frequent disturbance.

Why not repot right away? Like all plants, Bamboo Palms need time to acclimate to your home’s conditions. Immediate repotting can cause transplant shock, resulting in drooping fronds or slowed growth.
Best time to repot: October to May, when the plant is actively growing.
Yes! Bamboo Palms benefit from regular fertilizing. If you live in the UAE, fertilize once a month from October to May, when your Bamboo Palm is actively growing.

During the peak summer months (June–September), growth will slow due to extreme heat, so reduce or pause fertilizing if your plant isn’t actively growing. Over-fertilizing can stress the plant and lead to leaf burn.
Not recommended — Bamboo Palms are sensitive to minerals and additives in tap water, especially the chloramine in UAE water. Over time, this can cause leaf tip browning.

Better options: Filtered water or distilled water.

To distill water, boil in a kettle at 100 degrees celsius and allow the water to cool down to room temperature overnight.
Yes — gradually. Indoors, healthy clumps can reach 1.5–2 m over several years, producing new canes (stems) from the base for a fuller look
Yes — Bamboo Palms are non-toxic to cats and dogs, making them an excellent choice for pet-friendly homes.
Yellow leaves: Overwatering, poor drainage, or natural aging of the oldest fronds.
Brown tips: Low humidity, underwatering, or mineral/fluoride build-up from tap water.

If you ever need some extra help caring for your Bamboo Palm, feel free to send us a message on WhatsApp or book a plant care call with us.
Yes — Bamboo Palms prefer moderate humidity, similar to their tropical origins. Low humidity (common in air-conditioned UAE homes) can cause leaf tips to brown.

Why this matters indoors: Their thin fronds lose moisture quickly, so higher humidity helps prevent dehydration stress.
Tip: Mist the fronds once a day to boost humidity.
Yes — but avoid placing it directly under AC vents where cold air blows constantly, as this can dry out the fronds.
Our priority is to get your houseplant to you as safely as possible and ensure that it flourishes when it gets there.

Your plant will arrive in its nursery pot, securely packaged to protect the leaves and prevent soil spillage.

Once received, place your plant in the spot you plan to keep it in and leave it there until it is time to repot, allowing it to acclimate to its new environment.

There are some exceptions to this approach, specifically with our range of micro succulents, that tend to acclimate just fine outside of their nursery pots. So, we've gone ahead and repotted those plants for you.
