The White Orchid is known for its large, thick, white blooms.
An alternative to flowers, which wilt after a week. This indoor plant keeps its blooms on top of 2 long spikes for a month.

Botanical name: Phalaenopsis Nottingham

White Orchids grow best in spaces with bright indirect light, where the sun is soft or diffused. They can adapt to medium light, though be careful to not overwater it, as the soil will take longer to dry with lesser light. Avoid placing it under direct midday sunlight (especially during the summer), since that will cause your White Orchid to dry out and the leaf tips to brown. Never place it in a dark spot, since the soil will almost definitely take too long to dry out, which will cause your White Orchid's roots to rot (a death sentence).

Let the soil dry out between waterings

Every 1-2 weeks, stick your finger 30-50% into the soil:

  • If you feel ANY moisture, at all, wait longer before watering.
  • If the soil feels COMPLETELY DRY, then it’s time to water.

Note: the more light it gets, the more often it'll need to be checked & watered

Discard excess water

When watering, fully water the entire soil mixture. Then, allow all the excess water to drain out the bottom of the pot’s drainage holes. Discard that water.

FAQ

Caring for your White Orchid
White Orchids prefer bright, indirect light. In their native tropical forest habitats, they grow attached to trees under the canopy, receiving filtered sunlight.

Best placement: Close to an east-facing window, or a few feet from a south or west-facing window with sheer curtains.

If the light is too low: Will result in fewer blooms and weaker leaves.

If the light is too strong: Direct UAE summer sun can scorch the leaves, leaving pale or yellow patches.
Water every 7–10 days, but always check the roots and bark first.

How to check: Look at the roots through the clear pot — silvery-grey roots mean it’s time to water; green roots mean the White Orchid is still hydrated.

Why this matters: White Orchids have thick aerial roots adapted to absorb water quickly and dry out in between — sitting in soggy bark can cause root rot.

Watering tip: When watering your plant, evenly water the entire soil mixture until you see water draining from the bottom of the nursery pot. After allowing all the excess water to drain out, discard that water.
Repot every 1–2 years or when the bark medium has broken down and no longer allows proper drainage. Whichever comes first.

Why not repot right away? White Orchids need time to adjust after shipping. Repotting too soon can stress the roots and delay blooming.

Best time to repot: After the blooming cycle has finished and new roots are starting to grow.
Yes! Orchids benefit from regular fertilizing. If you live in the UAE, fertilize once a month from October to May, when your White Orchid is actively growing.

During the peak summer months (June–September), growth will slow due to extreme heat, so reduce or pause fertilizing if your plant isn’t actively growing. Over-fertilizing can stress the plant and lead to leaf burn.
Yes, if there are no other options — UAE tap water contains minerals and chloramine, which orchids can tolerate in small amounts. Long-term exposure to hard water can leave mineral deposits on roots and bark.

Better options: Filtered water or distilled water, especially if you notice leaf tip browning.

To distill water, boil in a kettle at 100 degrees celsius and allow the water to cool down to room temperature overnight.
Yes — the leaves will get larger and the plant will grow new flowers each year. However, White Orchids remain relatively compact, making them perfect for indoor spaces.
Yes — White Orchids are non-toxic to cats and dogs, making them a pet-safe flowering plant choice.
Yellow leaves: Could be due to overwatering, too much direct sunlight, or natural aging of older leaves.
Wrinkled leaves: Often caused by underwatering or damaged roots.
Drooping leaves: Usually a sign of underwatering, but can also occur if roots are rotted.
Bud drop: Can occur from sudden temperature changes or low humidity.

If you ever need some extra help caring for your White Orchid, feel free to send us a message on WhatsApp or book a plant care call with us.
Yes — White Orchids thrive in moderate humidity, Their tropical origins mean they appreciate environments that mimic rainforest conditions.

Tip: Mist the leaves once a day to boost humidity and wipe leaves regularly to remove dust, which can block light absorption.
Yes — as long as it’s kept away from cold air blowing directly onto it. White Orchids prefer temperatures between 18–26°C and dislike sudden changes in temperature.
Our priority is to get your houseplant to you as safely as possible and ensure that it flourishes when it gets there.

Your plant will arrive in its nursery pot, securely packaged to protect the leaves and prevent soil spillage.

Once received, place your plant in the spot you plan to keep it in and leave it there until it is time to repot, allowing it to acclimate to its new environment.

There are some exceptions to this approach, specifically with our range of micro succulents, that tend to acclimate just fine outside of their nursery pots. So, we've gone ahead and repotted those plants for you.
