Both plants want a lot of bright indirect sunlight. More light means better growth which means bigger leaves for the Money Tree and denser foliage for the Areca Palm.

However, as with all plants, be careful with direct sunlight (especially near untinted windows), as too much will lead to the water in your plants' leaves to evaporate, causing their leaves to burn. This risk of scorching is higher if your plants get direct sunlight during the middle of the day, when the day is hottest. Either way, keep an eye open for brown scorch marks on your leaves and, if you spot any, move it a few feet further away from your window.

In general, try to avoid more than 3-4 hours of direct sunlight a day.

The duo have different watering needs, Areca Palms love slightly moist soil whilst Money Trees like their soil to dry out between waterings.

To check if your Areca Palm is ready to be watered, use your finger to feel the top layer of the soil (as deep as your nail). If you feel any moisture, then wait longer. If that top layer feels completely dry, then it's time to rewater your Areca Palm.

To check if your Money Tree is ready for watering, stick your finger 2 inches into the soil to feel for the moisture. If the soil feels completely dry, you can water your Money Tree again.

When watering, it's important that the soil ends up completely saturated — you'll know a plant's soil is fully saturated when water drips out of the drainage holes of the nursery pot. As with any plant, always make sure to throw away any excess water — water should never get logged at the bottom of the pot.

The more light your Coloured Pet's Set gets, the more you'll need to water. Similarly, if you place your plant in a darker spot then you'll need to water your plants less frequently.

Note: When checking your soil for moisture, make sure to test different parts of the soil in case you come across a wet pocket.
